Security Beefed up at Mangalore & Nearby Check Posts Ahead of Assembly Polls

In the wake of the Karnataka state assembly elections, Mangalore police have increased checking at border check-posts between Karnataka and Kerala states. CC cameras are installed at all check posts which are opened at seven spots, in addition to one commissionerate and one district check points.

The main check post is opened at Talapady toll gate. All vehicles arriving from Kerala are double-checked. In Bantwal, check-posts are established at Saradka, Anekallu, Kanyana, Salethuru and Medu. Vehicle checking is intensified. Under Sullia taluk limits, checking is intensified at Kallugundi district border check post, Sampaje forest check post, Jalsooru police check post, Narkodu state border post near Aletti and Mandekolu check posts.
