Selfie Craze can be Fatal: This Incident that Occurred in Udupi District is an Example

August 16: Selfie craze can prove to be fatal. Here is an incident that occurred in Karkala, Udupi District where a youth has gone missing after he fell into Arbi Falls at Nitte while taking a selfie on Thursday afternoon.
The youth is Sudesh (26) a resident of Kedinja Manjarapalke near Nandalike village in Karkala taluk. It is learnt that Sudesh had gone to Arbi Falls with Rakesh of Bola, Bharath of Nandalike, Santhosh of Kodsarabettu at around 2 pm. Sudesh and Bharath slipped into the waterfalls while taking a selfie. Even though Bharath managed to swim back safely, Sudesh is feared to have drowned.
Taluk officers including the tahsildar and executive officer immediately rushed to the spot. As many as 150 people are assisting in the search operation along with Fire and emergency services personnel.
