Smart City Mangalore Likely To Get Smart Traffic Signals Soon

February 25: Mangalore city is getting smarter as there are preparations to implement Smart Signal by developing the high traffic format of the city’s traffic signals.
Currently, traffic signals in various parts of Mangalore are not being properly compressed. Its repairs are not possible. The difference in time limit is also not apparent. Light is not even adequate. In the wake of such problems, high-tech signal will be implemented.
Currently, traffic signals are operating at Ambedkar Circle (Jyoti), PVS, Lalbagh and Panambur. It is intended to be developed in high-tech format. There are also plans to implement high-tech traffic signal in most parts of the city, including Balmatha, Kankanady Coastal Circle, Buntshastel, Ladyhill, Nantur, Bijai-KSRTC, KPT, etc. Some traffic signals in various parts of the city are not being handled properly. Thus it is thought to develop all the city’s signals in high tech format. The high-tech traffic signal will be implemented soon after negotiating with the police and traffic police.
Having a camera, the number plates of all vehicles can be clearly identified. It also includes software that can be immediately downloaded by the police department. The LED screen has digital timer and traffic information. It also features a “countdown phone timer” based on the micro controller. It also includes city weather data. The display on the LED screen stops as the green light goes on.
