Some Relief For Mangaloreans: Water level in Thumbe Dam Increases

Due to heavy and continuous rainfall in and around Mangalore, water level at the Thumbe vented dam which supplies water to Mangalore city has increased.

Water rationing was introduced in Mangalore city from May 4 wherein water was supplied on alternate days to the residents of Mangalore following decrease in water level in Thumbe dam. Presently, water level in the dam is being maintained at five meters thus reducing the drinking water problem which Mangaloreans faced.
