Someshwar & Ullal Beaches Made Plastic Free Zones: Much Needed in Mangalore Too

The urban local bodies of Someshwara and Ullal have declared beaches plastic-free after the tourist destinations saw an increase in footfall. Revenue officials from the urban local bodies have been visiting beaches every day to enforce the plastic ban. All shops in the temple town and beach premises have been warned not to use plastic and the trade license will be cancelled on violation of the rules. Signboards restricting tourists from carrying plastic carry bags have been put up on the beach premises.
