St Mary’s Island in Udupi District Opens For Tourists From September 22

Renowned tourist spot St Mary’s Island is now open for tourists & visitors from September 22, Thursday. Prohibitory orders were clamped on tourists from visiting St Mary’s Island from May 15 due to the monsoon and turbulence of the seas. With the monsoon receding and the sea returning to normal, tourists are allowed to leave for St Mary’s Island.

A cleanliness drive has been initiated at St Mary’s Island to dispose of the wastes accumulated due to the monsoon. The entry and the island are being cleaned up. Measures are being taken to ensure safety, security and an enjoyable experience is provided to the tourists
