Student From Mangalore Selected For ISRO Programme

Vasushna T, a Class IX student of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya student has been selected for the Young Scientist Programme or ‘Yuva Vigyani Karyakram’ (YUVIKA) organised by the Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro).

Vasushna from Mudipu is among 150 others in the country who have been selected for the two- weeks programme. The programme aims at imparting basic knowledge on space technology, space science and space applications to students, especially those from rural areas. Vasushna will be participating in the programme in the Bengaluru centre along with 32 others. Out of 32, five students are from Karnataka and the rest from other states.

The programme will be held in ISRO’s five centres. Towards the end of the project, students will be taken to visit the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota.
