Students involved in drugs: This is what Commissioner wants Heads of Educational Institutions & Parents to do

July 20: Mangalore City Police Commissioner Sandeep Patil has warned the heads of all educational institutions, teachers and parents of school going children, against the drug menace.
Commissioner Patil said that several raids have been conducted by the City police recently against the drug abuse and drug trafficking and it has been found that most of the offenders are students. These students were found peddling the illicit drugs like Cocaine, MDMA and ganja.
The MDMA is difficult to identify as it looks like sugar powder. The MDMA are placed in small sachets and can be placed in the bags, vehicles and dress pockets. Major drug peddlers have been arrested during the raids.
The police department is conducting several programmes to create awareness among students regarding drugs.
Commissioner said that the school managements and the parents should inspect the bags of their students and children. If any illicit drugs are found, the same should be informed to the police department by calling police control room.
