Team of Eigineering Graduates From Udupi Have Built a Micro Seaplane: Check Out

February 27: A team of 8 engineering graduates from Hejamadi in Udupi district have built the lightest micro seaplane in India for the first time. The team has built the seaplane using local materials. This is designed to serve security operations, flood relief operations and in tourism.
The  team has successfully completed the trial flying of the seaplane at the Shambhavi river that flows nearby. The seaplane weighs 190 kg and one pilot can sit and travel. A motor with a capacity of 33 HP is used for this seaplane. Grade aluminium, foam, fibre cloth, nylon cloth and other items are used in the manufacture of this seaplane. This team has the plan of manufacturing four, six and ten-seat seaplanes in future if they get suitable equipment and infrastructure.
