The Iconic Kalasha Of Earlier Mahaveer Circle Is All Set For Re-Installation
February 26: The iconic giant kalasha which was earlier installed at Mahaveer circle pumpwell, where four roads meet, was removed to facilitate the construction of pumpwell flyover.
The Kalasha had been moved on March 21, 2016 with the help of a crane
and is currently sitting opposite a police outpost nearby.
Now since the pumpwell flyover is inaugurated, the kalasha will be reinstalled soon.
A decision on the place to reinstall has not yet been taken. The National Highways Authority of India has created a new circle under the flyover and some people are thinking of reinstalling the kalasha at center of the circle, whereas, some have proposed to station at its current spot near the police outpost in an organized way.
Jain Society Mangalore and people’s representatives have come together to reinstall the kalasha but the decision is still pending.
