The Padil Underpass Is Almost Ready For Traffic: Check Out

February 4: The Padil Underpass, at National highway 75, has just been revived and is set to open to traffic. 90% of the work on the Paddle Underpass is currently complete.

In addition to this, the underpass is currently undergoing a front-line model and the road works are expected to begin shortly. The Railway Department has done the work so far, and the Highway Department will undertake highway connectivity to the underpass. The total cost of underpass construction is Rs 6 crore.
MP Nalin Kumar Kateel and Minister Kota Srinivasa Poojary had recently convened a meeting in Mangalore and instructed the Railways Department to hand over the work to the Highways Department.
According to the agreement, The National Highway Authority’s contention was that the Railway Department had to construct an open drainage, timber and power pole to drain rain water. However, the Railway Department was of the view that all these work should be done by the Highways Department. It was this argument that caused the work to slow down. The Highway Department has disposed of the existing large trees and cleared the power poles.
In the meantime, two-way traffic has been allowed on the single-face bridge at Padil’s first underpass, causing underpass problems with the incessant traffic of vehicles.
