The Rare White Blackbucks & Blue Bulls Arrive at Pilikula Biological Park: Visit Soon
Under the animal exchange programme, four white blackbucks and four blue bulls (nilgai) have arrived at the Pilikula Biological Park. The animals were brought from Balasaheb Thackeray Gorewada International Zoological Park, Nagpur, in Maharashtra.
In return, six reticulated pythons and four grey mongooses were sent from the surplus stock of Pilikula Biological Park. White blackbucks are rare variants of blackbuck antelope. Colouration in them is the result of genetic mutation. These animals are leucistic (having whitish fur). The blue bulls are the largest antelope found in Asia.
