November 5: People who prefer travelling by flight from Mangalore to Mumbai are unhappy. The reason being the number of flights from Mangalore to Mumbai have become less, but flight charges of available flights have gone up steeply.
Earlier seven flights were operated daily from Mangalore to Mumbai, and the average fare which was charged between Rs 5,000 to 6,00.
Air India used to operate one flight from Mangalore to Mumbai while Jet Airways had three flights., IndiGo operated two flights, and SpiceJet operated one flight.
Air India has currently is operating a flight from Mangalore to Mumbai via Coimbatore and has stopped direct flights to Mumbai. IndiGo operates two flights and SpiceJet one and at the same time the fare has gone up to Rs 15,000 to 16,000 and may even go beyond reach during peak seasons.
These change are causing inconvenience to the passengers.
