This Event witnessed the essence of Tulunad Culture: Want to know about this?

August 5:  ‘Aati Koota’ was organised by Dr K Shivarama Karantha Pilikula
Nisaragadhama at its Guthu House on Sunday, August 4. The essence of Tulunad and its culture was unfolded during ‘Aati Koota’.
Moodbidri MLA Umanath Kotian spoke during the occasion and said that the celebrations like ‘Aati Koota’, are helpful to recall the tradition of Tulunad and also in reviving the unique food culture of the region.
A ‘Yaksha Nrithya’ was performed by Swastishreeas a part of cultural programme.  Seetharama Kumar Kateel and troupe.  a Yakshagana play ‘Srinivasa Kalyana’ in the front yard of The Guthu House.

The delicacies of Aati month like  ‘Tajankuda Ambade’, ‘Arita Unde’, ‘Gendada Adye’, ‘Guriyappa’, ‘Tekkareda Adye’, ‘Patrode’, ‘Manjal Ireta Gatti’, ‘Pelakayida Gatti’ and ‘Garige’ were prepared by the members of Mangalore Taluku Mahila Mandalagala Okkoota.

People also got to taste the special lunch which was organised as part of ‘Aati Koota’. It comprised ‘Limbeda Uppad’, ‘Tekkare Pacchudi’, ‘Neerkukku Chutney’, ‘Uppad Pacchir Palya’, ‘Pelata Ire Kottige’, ‘Kanchal Ambade Menaskai’, ‘Kanile Munge Padengi Gasi’, ‘Nurgetappu Peltari Sukka’, ‘Sarnadde Payasa’, ‘Tevu Tetla’, ‘Tevuda Dant Ambade Sambar’, ‘Tojank Vade’, ‘Kumbuda Pulikoddel’, ‘Chattambade’, ‘Pelata Happala’, along with rice, yogurt and butter milk.
