This Group of Students in Mangalore Are On A Mission: This is What They Want
October 22: A group of students from class I to PUC called as green warriors are on a mission in Mangalore. These green warriors on Sunday visited nearly 45 houses in Jeppinamogaru area to spread awareness on waste segregation at source.
The group is led by Hani HR, a class VII student of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Mudipu. Hani said that she was moved by the recent incident reported at Mandara near the Pachanady and that is when she realised the importance of waste segregation. Hani along with her friends decided to spread awareness on waste segregation.
A group of nearly 25 students who are supported by parents and environmentalists visited the houses. These students also prepared nearly 150 bags from old newspapers within two hours which were distributed to the houses during the campaign. Along with this, Hani’s mother Pavithra sponsored cloth bags that were distributed to every house.
The group has also been giving two clay diyas to ever to every house in recent years.
