Ticket Checkers From KSRTC Mangalore & Puttur Division Get Body Cameras: This Is The Reason

March 9: Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has started  providing body cameras to ticket examiners in order to maintain transparency in the operations and tide over the confusion that arises on the issue of tickets often.
There have been complaints from the conductors that the ticket examiners do not conduct the checks properly and unnecessarily complain against conductors. Therefore the ticket examiners have to use body cameras in order to maintain transparency during the operations.
KSRTC Mangalore division has 10 ticket examiners and they have been issued body cameras but because of the technical problem, only two are working. In the Puttur division, body cameras have been given to five people. The body cameras are fitted to the shirt pocket when undertaking the checking. When the examiners get down, they are switched off. Details of the checking they conduct are recorded and the details remain stored there for about a month. If there are any disputes, the officials check the body camera records.
