Tourist Places to Get a Digital Touch: Students to Work on the Information in Website

CT Ravi said that the Department of Kannada and Culture will with a website on the lines of Wikipedia that will have comprehensive information on all villages in the State within next year. The website will provide all details about villages on the lines of Wikipedia. The website will have details like history of the village, how it got its name, practices, social condition and prominent places to visit.
Minister Ravi said that teams of art students would be sent to villages to collect information on history, culture, folk art and other aspects. He even mentioned that collection of information on the villages would be done in a campaign mode which will be a good study exercise for students and valuable work for the department.
He said that the information would be made available in Kannada. The department hopes to complete the information collection exercise by January 2020 and bring out the website by December 2020.
