The Karnataka State Dharmik Parishat which is government body that makes recommendations on conducting rituals, pujas and preparing a dress code for devotees entering temple now has plans to implement similar code in all 216 ‘A’ grade temples under the Hindu religious institutions and charitable endowment department in the state. The Hindu religious institutions and charitable endowment department has to approve the Parishat’s recommendations and send them before the cabinet for approval before they are implemented. The dress code is still in initial stage and after a discussion on the subject with detailed dos and don’ts, the code will be implemented in a phased manner only after securing approval from the government.
