Traffic Rules Become Stricter in Mangalore: This Step by Police Comes as a Warning to the Citizens

September 5: Mangalore City Traffic Police carried out special drive on Wednesday, September 4 in which vehicles operating without number plates and police seized 75 vehicle and issued fine challans to owners. The drive was a warning to the public that traffic police would the crackdown on vehicles without number plates.
The drive was carried out near Mahavir (Pumpwell) Circle and several other places in the city seized vehicles have been taken to the jurisdictional traffic police station in some cases.
City police commissioner P S Harsha said vehicle owners should use proper number plates on their vehicles to avoid inconvenience. Commissioner also mentioned that vehicles without number plates will be assumed to be used for illegal activities.
City police also sent a broadcast audio advisory through its city control room to all its beat WhatsApp groups informing people about this drive. Commissioner Harsha is carried out with an intention to sensitize people about their bounden duties.
