Tulu Lipi Board Installed at Kateel Temple: It’s High Time to Promote Tulu Script

Tulunad is a land of glorious temples and the first names that comes to our mind is Kateel Sri Durgaparameshwari Temple. Tulunad temples give away the glorious history of the land. Tulu, being one of the oldest Dravidian languages, has not yet got its due recognition when it comes to script and status. Several outfits have started promoting Tulu scrips in and around Mangalore. Even though, many political representatives from this land have urged the state and central government to include Tulu in its 8th schedule, but everything in in vain. Now the citizens of Tulunad are voluntarily putting name boards in Tulu.

Recently, Kateel Sri Durgaparameshwari Temple has also installed a board with tulu script on the main entrance. MP Nalin Kumar Kateel and members from the temple authorities were present. This is a great step towards proting the Tulu language.
