Two Year Old Sexual Harassments Case At Mangalore University: Prof Suspended
October 31: Professor in the department of economics of Mangalore University, Prof Arabi U has been suspended from services in a case of sexual harassment of a research scholar.
Though the complaint had submitted its report two years ago itself, the then Registrar of the University Dr A M Khan had reportedly failed to initiate any action.
The University Syndicate at its meeting recently had decided to dismiss him from service. It was after the State Women’s Commission sought a status report that the Enquiry Committee report was placed before the Syndicate meeting and a decision was taken to dismiss the accused professor. The syndicate, in addition to taking the decision to dismiss Prof Arabi, had also arrived at the decision to recommend the state government action against Dr Khan.
