Udupi DC Kurma Rao Gets National Award For Work Against Child Drug Abuse & Trafficking

Udupi district deputy Commissioner M Kurma Rao has been bestowed with a National Award at Vigyan Bhawan, at New Delhi by the DG, NCB and Chairperson, NCPCR, on March 2, Wednesday. He was nominated for this prestigious award for his exemplary service towards preventing drug abuse among children and also their trafficking. Udupi was one of top 20 districts that was selected at all India level for the extraordinary work done in “Prevention of Drugs and Substance Abuse among Children & Illicit Trafficking.” Udupi is the only District that was selected from Karnataka for this honour.

DC Kurma Rao could not attend the event in New Delhi due to work in Udupi District but Wilfred D’Souza, DYO, NYK, Udupi received the award on his behalf.
