Udupi District Gets Its First Oxygen Refilling Unit: This is Something You Should Know

Udupi district gets its first oxygen refilling unit at Belapu in Kaup District. The unit has been set up in the wake of shortage of oxygen needed for covid patients suffering from severe respiratory problems. At present, hospitals in Udupi district rely on three oxygen refilling units operating in Baikampady and Karnad industrial areas.
The oxygen refilling unit in Udupi is owned by SN Cryogenics Private Limited at KIADB industrial area at Belapu in Kaup District. The unit can store 20000 cubic meters of liquid oxygen which will be processed into gas and then filled into cylinders. The liquid oxygen required for refilling unit is being brought from Bangalore & Torangal near Bellary. The unit will enable faster management of medical emergencies in more than 40 private and government hospitals in Udupi district.
