Udupi District to follow Dakshina Kannada regarding sale of sand: Here are the details

July 5: Udupi district is all set to launch a Sand Bazaar app to ensure transparency in procuring and distribution of sand ater the success of the App in Dakshina Kannada.
Udupi Deputy Commissioner Hepshiba Rani Korlapati said that the App Sand BAzaar will be launched after making certain alterations. She mentioned that this App will ensure hassle-free distribution of sand to consumers. The DC said a study would be taken up to look into the requirements of sand business stakeholders and suggestions from several departments will be incorporated in the Sand Bazaar app. The App would ensure better distribution of sand at nominal cost and will be delivered to the doorsteps for consumers.
The DC even mentioned that a workshop would be organised for contractors, vehicle owners and drivers once the app is developed to ensure that there are no teething problems while adopting the new procedure of sand delivery.
