Udupi SP Nisha James ready to take these measures to avoid crime & violations in the city

• July 13: Udupi Superintendent of Police Nisha James said that special drive will be launched against vehicles without insurance. Along with this, a drive against vehicles parked in ‘no-parking zones’ with disfigured silencers of motorbikes making a lot of noise will also be launched. She mentioned that this drive will be conducted not only to reprimand the violators but also to create awareness. SP James mentioned that the fine for some violations has been increased more than ten times so that all kinds of violations come down.
  Along with this, SP James said that measures are being taken to avoid several violations and crime in the city.
• She will speak to school and college managements on taking action against students who skip classes and loiter at parks and other places.
• She has also instructed her officers to take necessary action against the Matka-related complaints from areas like Hiriyadka and Cherkadi.
• She said that the permits and the timings issued to the city buses will be checked as drivers are not able to meet the timing restrictions due to the frequent stops.
• She also mentioned that she with the help of the excise department fine will be collected against illegal liquor sale.
• She mentioned that more than 30 check posts at night hours and 10 check posts during the day have been set up to check illegal trafficking of sand.  These check posts will also keep a vigil on illegal cattle trafficking.
