Unauthorized Shops in Mangalore Sealed During Surprise Operation: Read to Know More

A surprise operation was conducted under the leadership of Mangalore city Mayor Manoj Kumar in the Mangalore City Corporation (MCC) limits for shops and establishments that had not renewed their trade licenses. The mayor stated that the operation was carried out in response to numerous complaints. Notices were issued to some shops for not renewing their trade licences, and further raids will be conducted with a team of officials in the coming days.

The mayor visited and inspected a shopping mall and another market in the city at Pandeshwar and Hampankatta areas. Some shops were sealed due to non-renewal of trade licenses. Additionally, the mayor issued warnings to shopowners who had not renewed their licenses. Deputy Mayor Bhanumathi PS, corporator Sumithra Kariya, and officials were present during the operation.

It may be recalled that the mayor launched a ‘Trade Adalat’ to resolve issues traders face in obtaining or renewing business licenses on Tuesday. He also warned of carrying out drives in the city to check unauthorised shops and business establishments, which are functioning either without a license or not renewing the existing one.
