Unbelievable: Fine of Rs 1.51 Crore Collected in Twin Districts For Violating The Face Mask Rule

The district administration of both Dakshina Kannada & Udupi districts had implemented the rule of wearing face masks in public places since 14 months after the onset of the coronavirus pandemic. But the public has violating this rule ever since then. Rs 250 fine was coolected as fine for violating the face mask rule under the limits of corporations and town municipalities, while the fine amount is Rs 100 under the limits of local bodies. The number of cases of violating the face mask violation have crossed 1,28,051 in both districts and an amount of Rs 1.51 crore is collected as fine. In  Dakshina Kannada district so far 82,384 cases of face mask rule violation are recorded and the fine collected has reached Rs 1,00,16,717, whereas in Udupi district, the cases were 45,667 and Rs 51,72,220 was the fine collected.
