Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbanand Sonowal during his visit to Mangalore on September 25, Friday launched several projects in New Mangalore Port, including laying the foundation stone for modification of U.S. Mallya Gate and a truck terminal, and dedicated a business development centre at Panambur. He announced that New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT) will be building a gas terminal at Tannirbavi at a cost of Rs 3,200 crore.
