Unique Dasara Celebration Organized at Mangalore International Airport

A unique two day Dasara celebration is organized by Mangalore International Airport which started on October 3. Various cultural organizations will showcase their talent during this two-day celebration at an open-air stage just set near the arrival gate. Bhajans, dandiya, Yakshagana, and the ubiquitous ‘pili vesha’ added to the unique flavour that the celebration presented to the stakeholders concerned.

Starting the cultural proceedings were the young and enthusiastic members of Sri Rama Kunitha Bhajana Mandali, Ishwarakatte in Bajpe with music pieces that fit the occasion. Following the melodious bhajans rendered by the troupe with their signature dance moves, students from a professional college in the city presented the dandiya, Bharatanatyam, and Yakshagana dances. This was followed by the famed ‘pili nalike’ aka ‘Tiger dance’. Even as the sun slowly slid over the horizon, the ‘pilis’ took center stage and left all awestruck with their scintillating moves driven by the vibrant beats of the ‘taase’.
