Vaishnav Hegde From Dakshina Kannada Bags Silver Medal at Senior Nationals Aquatic Championship

Vaishnav Hegde, an Indian Navy swimmer representing the Services Team, won a silver medal clocking his personal best time of 28.8 seconds in 50 metres breaststroke at the 76th Senior Nationals Aquatic Championship held at Gachibowli, Hyderabad, on July 6.

Vaishnav is the only swimmer from Dakshina Kannada district to win a senior national medal this year. He has also qualified for the upcoming National Games to be held in October. Vaishnav is from Puttur Aquatic Club and being trained by coaches Partha Varanashi, Deekshith, Niroop and Rohith at Dr Shivarama Karantha Balawana swimming pool, Puttur, and at St Aloysius College swimming pool, Mangalore.
