Vision To Protect Fishermen: Coast Guard & Fisheries Department Will Soon Launch An App

The Coast Guard Police, which is responsible for the protection of the state’s maritime shores, has now launched a new app for safety of fishermen. A new app is being prepared to record the safety of sinking fishermen and the boats at sea – the total number of workers in it, which will be fully operational soon. The app will be introduced to fishermen from Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Uttara Kannada districts.
The Coast Guard Police are collecting the details of fishing boats and boats that are currently on the go, either by verbal or paperwork, at the Department of Fisheries. In the meantime, because of the lack of accurate information about sailing boats, boats are sometimes unknown.
After the APP is launched, fishermen must upload their name, Aadhaar number, date and pictures in the App before leaving. This information is available at the Police Force and the Fisheries Department. This makes it possible to get accurate information on how many boats are currently in the sea. In addition, weather forecasts and precautions are also provided to assist fishermen in the APP.
With the vision of protecting the fishermen and obtaining their accurate information, the Coast Guard has decided to launch a new app in cooperation with the Fisheries Department.
