Water level in Nethravathi, Phalguni Rivers increase: Benefits to Local Farmers

July 24: Following good showers in Dakshina Kannada district for the past few days, the water-level in River Nandini has risen at Panja Athooru Bailu, Pakshikere, near Kinnigoli. River Phalguni is in spate at Gurpura, following heavy rain in and around Bajpe. There has been an increase in the water level in Nethravathi and Phalguni.
The rain has also intensified farming activities. The local farmers are  engaging in transplanting paddy seedlings.
The manholes overflowed in several places in Mangalore and the Water has entered some farmlands in and around the area.
