Weekend Curfew: Here is a List of What’s Allowed & What’s Not in Dakshina Kannada District

Deputy commissioner (DC) Dr Rajendra KV said that the weekend curfew will begin in the district this week  from Friday 8 pm till Monday 5 am. The state government has issued new guidelines to contain the spread of Omicron variant.

The district administration has allowed bus transport during the weekend curfew. Shops selling essential commodities are allowed to open. The DC also directed officials to grant holidays to the schools and colleges during the weekend curfew but the students who have to appear for the exams can travel along using their examination hall ticket. Marriages and religious programmes which are already scheduled are allowed to take place as per the guidelines of the state government. Only 200 people can take part in these programmes. The religious programmes are requested to be postponed and only the inevitable pre-scheduled programmes will be allowed as per the guidelines of the government. All places of worship in the district will remain closed for visitors during the weekend curfew on January 8 and January 9.
