Weekend Curfew: Mangalore Roads Have a Deserted Look as Unnecessary Travel Cut Down

As per the state government rules, weekend curfew began in coastal districts and rest of Karnataka on Friday January 7 from 10pm. Police commissioner along with other officers went on rounds to ensure the strict implementation of curfew hours. The roads of Mangalore have a deserted look as unnecessary travel has been cut down. Temples and religious centres closed, schools & colleges also have been closed. Security has been tightened as barricades have come up at stretegic locations. Police officials were seen interrogating people travelling on two wheelers & four wheelers. Excepting emergency, grocery, food items sales and parcel service in hotels, no other services will be available during the weekend, till 5 am on Monday.
