When Will Dasara Holidays Begin? Educational Institutions Uncertain Regarding This

September 13: Mangalore South MLA Vedavyas Kamath has requested the  authorities to advance Dasara holidays to September 28 rather than October 6 to October 20.
Educational institutions in the city are in uncertainty over the statement of MLA Kamath as most of the educational institutions declare holidays after conducting mid-term examinations which are held in the last week of September, and run up to October 6. Convent and other Christian institutions declare one week holidays during Dasara and reserve the rest for Christmas (one week).
Head of one of the institutions said that they are aware of MLA’s statement and are not sure whether there will be a change at the last moment and hence have decided to complete all major mid-term examinations before September 28.
Deputy Director of Public Instruction has issued a circular a week ago that all aided or unaided schools and high schools have to complete mid-term examinations before September 30. Apart from this, all the schools have been directed to compulsorily organise culmination of the 150th year of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary on October 2.
