Why Has Commuting In Private Buses Become Costly In Udupi District? Click To Know

November 10: The regional transport authority (RTA)has revised the rates for commuting in city buses – city & service in Udupi district. The people have to pay higher fare from the second stage.
As per the notification issued by the RTA, the bus fares have been revised as per state government notification in rounding off the fares to the nearest rupee. This decision has been taken to avoid the issue of small change causing inconvenience to both passengers and the conductors.
The revised fare for city buses ranges from Rs 7 for the first stage of 0.1 to 2-kms to Rs 38 for the 13th and last stage from 24.1-26-kms. The fares for express/mofussil service buses range from Rs 9 for the first stage of up to 6.5kms to Rs 159 for the 24th stage.
