Yakshagana will now be performed even in the US: Click to know

June 27: Yakshadhruva Patla Foundation Trust to inaugurate its 35th unit at New Jersey in the US on June 29. This will promote the cause of Yakshagana in the US. Trust founder president Patla Sathish Shetty said that the Yakshadhruva team will stage Yakshagana performances at 12 places in the US which will be staged for 2 hours. Eight artistes will leave for the US who will be later joined by artistes from India settled in US.
Along with a Yakshagana performance, the students there will be given a demonstration by Prof M L Samaga on Yakshagana. Training in ‘natya’ and ‘himmela’ will be imparted to the interested children there.
The team will later take part in Vishwa Kannada Sammelana in US on September 1, which will be attended by Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy.
