17-year-old girl raped by father: Case registered

April 7: An incident of child abuse came into light where a man allegedly raped his 17-year-old daughter in Bantwal. A case was registered by the mother of the victim at Ullal Police station regarding the same. The physical examination and information given by the victim during counselling confirmed the rape. The victim’s father had been consistently abusing the victim at home and also by taking her to a lodge.
A case has been registered Bantwal Rural police station under sections 4, 5, 10 of the Pocso Act as well as section 376 (punishment for rape) of the Indian Penal Code.
