Senior doctor and President of Wenlock, Lady Goschen and KMC Old Students’ Association M.Shantharam Shetty said that 175th anniversary celebration of Government Wenlock Hospital scheduled on September 14.
The heritage building of Government Wenlock Hospital in Mangalore will have new look and new clinical facilities will be added when the hospital celebrates its 175th anniversary on September 14, 2025. The 175th anniversary celebrations will be held by the hospital, in association with Wenlock, Lady Goschen and KMC Old Students’ Association. Dr. Shivaprakash said works on construction new OPD block at a cost of ₹70 crore were on. The new critical care block of the hospital will be ready in a year.
The hospital was handling every year 30,000 inpatients, more than 3 lakh outpatients and conducts 1,000 surgeries, and 2,000 dialysis cycles. It has a state-of-art laboratory, regional blood transfusion centre, and new surgical and medicine blocks. Dr. Shivaprakash said equipment were being installed to operationalise operation theatres, CATH lab, radiology and endoscopy facilities at the surgical block.
