20 stolen cattle rescued after arresting two.

March 30: The Dakshina Kannada disyrict police have rescued 20 cattle while being illegally transported to a slaughterhouse. One of the accused who tried to escape from the spot, had a fall and injured himself. He was latter admitted to a hospital. The two persons who are arrested have been identified as Ismail & Mohammed Sameer.
The animals were transported in a truck without relevant documents and therefore the police officials from Uppinangady police station intercepted the vehicle at Nekkiladi junction.
As per the details received, the animals were tied down and bundled in the truck to be transported for slaughter. The vehicle in which the cattle were being transported, has been seized and all the animals have been rescued.  The truck and the animals valued at Rs 4.55 lakh.
The accused have been booked undef various sections of Karnataka Prevention of Cow slaughter and Cattle Preservation act (1964) and prevention of cruelty animal act (1960).
