250 drink & drive cases in just 24 days: Several other cases registered in Mangalore

July 25: In order to enforce traffic laws effectively and to reduce accidents in Mangalore City, the police have strictly taken action against traffic violators.
City Police Commissioner Sandeep Patil said that the Mangalore City police have registered 250 drunken driving cases in the month of July (till date). Along with this, 90 cases were registered for overspeeding of vehicles. In addition, 250 cases have been registered for using mobile phones while driving and 170 cases for jumping red signal. As many as 300 cases have been registered for ferrying excess passengers in the commissionerate jurisdiction.
