Mangalore City Experiences Heavy Rainfall: Trees Uprooted in Several Places

Mangalore city and surrounding places experienced heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorm on March 8, Wednesday morning. Intermittent rains lashed in a number of places right from 2 am which turned into heavy downpour between 5 am and 6.30 am. It was seen that tress were uprooted in several places which also led to power cut.

The meteorological department had predicted rains to continue in the south interior Karnataka including coastal districts between March 9 and 12 because of depression that has been created over the Bay of Bengal.
