Weekend Kambala to Promote Tourism Likely to Start at Pilikula Nisargadhama: Good Initiative

The government is planning to start kambala during weekend at Pilikula Nisargadhama, to promote tourism in DK District. There are also plans to introduce the traditional sporting event to the younger generation. The Dakshina Kannada district administration had put forth a proposal in this regard, which has received a nod from the department of youth empowerment and sports.

Karnataka legislative council chairman Basavaraj Horatti had convened a meeting on April 19, and resolved to form the Karnataka State Kambala Association, and had also discussed starting kambala during weekends at Pilikula Nisargadhama. The district administration has received a circular seeking a detailed proposal recently. It will be prepared through the deputy commissioner, after holding discussions with the authorities of Pilikula Nisargadhama.
