Anganwadi Workers to organize a rally against the Government: Click to know why

May 28: The Anganwadi Workers’ Association to organise a Vidhana Soudha Chalo rally on May 30 urging the government to strengthen the anganwadi system by introducing pre-school education. The rally is organised to oppose the move of the government to start LKG and UKG in government schools.
Anganwadi Workers’ Association state president S Varalakshmi said that there were 62,000 anganwadi centres in the state with 1.25 lakh anganwadi workers and assistants serving these centres. She said that the state government should withdraw the notification to introduce LKG and UKG classes in government schools which will affect the anganwadi centres.
She mentioned that the the government should train anganwadi workers to teach in pre-schools instead of deploying new teachers.
