Bangude at whooping 430 Rupees per kg!

June 11: Traditional fishing has been banned since June 1 due to several reasons. Due to this prices of even staple fish like mackerel and sardine command premium rates and premium fresh fish like white pomfret and seer cost a bomb when available.
The rates of bangude and bhutai have reached never before heard rates this year. The price of fresh mackerel is Rs 430 and frozen bangude at Rs 130 to 180 per kg.
The fresh bangude which arrives in limited quantities are very large in size and have maximum of three to four counts in one kg.. While KFDC sells it at Rs 430 per kg, it is about 10% cheaper at market or landing area at Rs 360 to Rs 380 per kg. The rise in fish rates have been burnin the pocket of fish eaters recently.
