Bus owners in Mangalore need to be cautious: Police Commissioner Sandeep Patil to take these measures

June 29: Weekly phone-in programme was organised  at commissioner’s  office on Friday, June 29. Police commissioner Sandeep Patil during the phone-in programme received several complaints on hazardous parking taking place in Mangalore.
Citizens complained that haphazard parking of vehicles on roads is causing inconveniences to the pedestrians. A lady complained that fish vendors have encroached upon the pavement in Kavoor which causes inconvenience while walking. Another resident complained that vehicles are parked on both sides of the stretch from Mannagudda to Car Street.
Police commissioner Patil directed the traffic police to prevent double side parking on the road and also seize buses which are being driven rashly and honking unnecessarily or parked on the middle of the road. He stated that case will be filed on the bus owners if the rules are violated repeatedly in this regard.
The Commissioner also directed the police officials to write a letter to National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) regarding potholes on the service road and the absence of drainages to drain the rainwater.
