Cash of Rs 2.75 lakh hidden inside the helmet has been seized

April 2: The election officials seized Rs 2.75 lakh cash that was being transported in a two-wheeler by tucking it inside the helmet of the rider. The cash was seized at Ishwaramangala checkpost in Puttur taluk of Dakshina Kannada on Monday night.
Two-wheeler rider Yashwanth and pillion rider did not have any documents for the cash they were carrying. The cash which was seized is said to belongs to a wine shop situated on the border area.
The seized cash has been handed over to the Zilla Panchayat chief executive officer. Puttur division Assistant Commissioner H K Krishnamurthy said that the cash would be returned if the required documents are produced.
