City Police Commissioner Sandeep Patil presented Academic Excellence Award to 374 Mangalorean students

May 4:  Yenepoya Foundation and Yenepoya (Deemed to be) University presented Academic Excellence Awards to 374 meritorious students in Mangalore on Friday. The awards were presented by City Police Commissioner Sandeep Patil to the students.
Yenepoya (Deemed to be) University Vice-Chancellor Dr M Vijaya Kumar said that they received 1,043 applications (for the awards) but the students were selected on the basic of merit. He said that the students from Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Kasargod districts were presented Academic Excellence Awards on the basis of merit.
While speaking during the occasion Commissioner Sandeep Patil urged the students to be passionate. Patil said people should change their mindset about police and said that the Police Department has chalked out programmes focusing on people-friendly policing.
