Congress denies tickets to leaders from the Billava community: Corporator quits

April 16: Radhakrishna, corporator of MCC Ward 26, resigned as general secretary of the District Congress Committee and the party’s primary membership on Tuesday.

He said that he had taken this decision to protest against the party’s decision to deny tickets to leaders from the Billava community in Udupi and Mangalore. Since he belongs to a Billava community he said that this decision of the Congress is a humiliation of the members of Billava Community. He urged the community  not to vote for the Congress in the Lok Sabha polls.
When asked about joining BJP Radhakrishna said he has not yet decided about it and will decide after consulting his people in the ward.
