CPM to back secular coalition candidate in DK: Vasanth Achari

April 9: Vasanth Achari, Dakshina Kannada CPM secretary said that the party will support a secular party candidate in the constituency. He said that the BJP government had failed to fulfill its promises made to the people in the last five years and has neglected development and attempted to weaken democratic institutions in the country. So CPM will support the Congress-JD(S) candidate Mithun Rai.
Achari said that MP Nalin Kumar Kateel had failed to develop Dakshina Kannada in the last 10 years. The flyover work and four-laning of the national highway were not completed even after eight years. Mangalore International Airport had been privatised, and he even failed to protect the interest of affected beedi workers, he added.
